"We were lucky enough to have Rod De Leon of Buck & De Leon Contractors build our second home at the Santa Lucia Preserve in the Carmel area. The difference between Rod and most contractors is that he built our house as if he was building his own home. This means the finished product had to be perfect. There is pride of workmanship, attention to detail and a willingness to incorporate changes both in design and materials. Rod's subcontractors were a pleasure to work with as well. The job site was always immaculate. Rod told us at the beginning of our job that he maintains friendships with his clients after the jobs are finished. That is certainly true for us. Rod still has a house key and when we are away for extended periods, he still does the occasional drive-by to make sure that all is well with his pride and joy: our house."

"Both [my wife] and I would like to thank you for all of the help which you gave us on the remodel of this home at Quail lodge.
Both the homeowners association and many neighbors have complimented us on the improvements made to the property; and without your help this might not have been achieved.
Having been in the architectural profession for the past fifty years, I truly respect good craftsmanship and the coordination of the various trades.
Should you wish to use my name as a reference for future work, please feel free to do so. And thank you once again for a job well done."

"Howard Buck asked if I would write a note regarding my experience with his construction company. We have worked with Howard and Rod off and on for the past seven years including three major remodeling's of our house, installation of a tennis court and a large poolside cabana. Their work is truly superior from all points of view - quality, speed and cost effectiveness. They are nice guys who are easy to work with and maybe best of all they are honest and straightforward in planning and in the inevitable mid-stream modification.
I have run some real estate development firms in the Bay Area and built and sold over a thousand homes so I've come in contact with a bunch of contractors. Truly, these guys are right at the top of my list. We are now trying to put together a joint venture with them on a large home in Sleepy Hollow - at least in part because of my trust in their abilities.
Anyway, I am very happy to recommend Buck/de Leon Construction Company."

"I have known Rod De Leon personally and professionally for twenty years.
Rod has handled a number of projects for me during this time. All work was completed to specifications in a timely manner. He can be depended upon for his honesty and hard work.
I feel confident in recommending him to you."

"Howard Buck and Rod de Leon of Buck/de Leon Contracting built our residence, in the space of seven months, notwithstanding rain for two weeks, which held up construction during that period.
Both these men are hardworking honorable and perfectionists in their work and what is normally a traumatic experience could only be called agreeable, watching the high standard of workmanship being built into our home.
Their scheduling was excellent, and there was never a day that work was not being performed and, quite often, there would be several subcontractors on the site doing their various jobs.
On several occasions they had some very good ideas that improved our architect's specifications and, although we had the best of materials put into our house, they gave us some very helpful and cost effective ways to help hold our costs down. The site was always kept clean. They always asked if what they did met with our approval.
We have no hesitation in recommending Buck/de Leon Contracting for any type of construction work. They extended themselves and give more than what was called for in the contract."

"I have no hesitation in writing a letter of recommendation for Howard Buck and Rod De Leon as I have known them personally and professionally for over 27 years as a supplier of lumber and building materials.
They have been successful in building custom homes, houses on speculation, remodels and commercial work.
They have always been prompt with their payments and receive discounts on their purchases where applicable.
I can appreciate their good sense of humor and work ethics as it has made working with both of them an enjoyable experience."

"The purpose of this letter is to offer our unqualified endorsement for Rod De Leon as a building contractor.
In 2001, Rod De Leon was engaged as a construct a major addition to our home in Carmel Valley. It was important that we have a highly responsible contractor given that I (Robert) was spending great amounts of time in Princeton, NJ where I was serving as CEO of a major public company at the time.
The scope of the project involved the addition of a master bedroom and bath, which would connect itself to what would become an enlarged two car garage. The project was complex in that the garage sat at a grade above the house. The nature of the construction was fairly high end - matching the existing structure.
Rod did a first class job. The project was completed in time, and on budget; my family was able to live in our home during the process. Rod is extremely conscientious and takes great pride in the quality of his work. He, his workers and his subs represented themselves unusually well on the work-site. Most importantly, Rod himself was constantly on the job - not just as a supervisor but as a worker as well. He is no absentee contractor.
Rod's accounting statements were complete and accurate. The project involved the coming together of some complex roof lines. Rod himself, on the job, designed an improved design for the issue. His work was of the highest quality. At the end, the job was complete; no "punch list" was required of the small items that hung on for months thereafter.
We have had experience with other contractors over the years. If we were building a new house - or constructing a major addition - our first preference would be for Rod De Leon."
